Welcome To P.E.P.H.S
Here at P.E.P.H.S we are dedicated to the stopping of horse abuse and slaughter. Each year, hundreds of thousands of horses are loaded onto double-decker cattle trucks with no food or water for several days, with no room to even stand, because of this they are dehydrated and starved by the time they reach the slaughter auction and placed in over crowded pens only to be sold to greedy buyers who have no regard or compation for life itself. The horses are then loaded back into over crowded trailers once sold, to again, ride hundreds of miles, with no food, water or rest, on there way to the slaughterhouse. After they are slaughtered, they are sent off for human consumption in parts of Europe and Asia. I think this is absolutley sickening, and one of the most inhumane things you can do. These are not just old sick horses, but young, rideable, and healthy horses in their prime, not to mention young foals at 3 to 4 months old and mares that are due to foal any day. Keep in mind that the slaughter buyers are buying two for the price of one for slaughter when they buy a mare due to foal.
Why is this wrong
Why is this wrong? We do not kill domesticated animals for food, it is not only immoral, it is against the law. You do not kill cats and dogs for your dinner so why kill our horses for dinner? In our oppinion, horse are far more important than cats or dogs. Yes, a cat is lovable and will catch the mice and rats around your barn, dogs are good lap companions and will watch your home for you. Don't get us wrong, we love cats and dogs and all animals. A horse is more than just a companion, set aside all the pleasure riding, and the sporting events we all enjoy, a horse is a work companion, without them we could not round up cattle, run fence lines or many other chores we depend on these animals for. We depended on horses for hundreds of years, yet we treat them as if they were not even important. Horses are not being slaughtered to feed poverty stricken people who can't afford food, They're slaughtered for profit.
Now for the horrifying part:
See, till now I have spared you the worst parts of these poor creatures deaths. In the slaughterhouse is were the most sicking abuse accures. There is no quick, painless death, because the bolt gun shot in there head is not designed to kill quick. The slaughterhouse needs the heart pumping when they drain the horses blood. Most of the horses are alive through the blood drainage process and skinning process. If you could just picture a beautifull horse kicking and belowing as they are hung by one leg and there throat is sliced, were they are then immediately skinned. I can only hope by this time the horses pain is over, because I will not allow myself to think of any living creature being disembowed alive. I think that horses, like all living creatures, have the right to live in respect, and when their time comes, they can end peacefully and quietly. So please join us in saving these bold and beautiful animals.

Horse meat is being sold for fifteen dollars a pound over seas. The lack of feed is just to keep the profit margin up. Buyers get so caught up in the money process that they have no respect for the animals, themselves or concern for the law.
